Most grooms, their attendants and even fathers rent their formalwear. It is best to check out a few shops before making the final decision. Consider the style of dress the bride and bridesmaids will be wearing.
|
- Begin making formalwear arrangements 3-4 months before the wedding.
- Select tuxedos in person to ensure the most flattering styles for you and your groomsmen. Have your measurements taken by a professional.
- Order your tuxedos and accessories at least 1-2 months before the wedding.
- Rent formal shoes to maintain consistency between the groom and his attendants.
- Be sure to try on your garments and accessories when you pick them up to ensure the right fit and to make sure you have all the accessories.
- Arrange to have someone return all of the formalwear after the wedding.
- Cummerbunds are out. Fullback vests are now usually preferred.
- Stop in a store to see the latest suit styles, vest and tie combinations, and assortments of solid and striped color schemes.
- You can use a different vest or tie configuration to make the groom stand out.
- Instead of a wing-tip collar, men are often wearing a fold-down collar and necktie.
- Shirts are frequently white or black, emphasizing color with a tie and vest.
- Cuff links and studs will add the finishing touch. Have an extra set on hand.
