Paperwork Checklist

Today’s bride has a choice of keeping her maiden name, taking her husband’s name or choosing a combination of both options. For many brides this decision is a matter of personal preference with consideration given to career, family or financial position. You should make your decision before applying for the marriage license. Remember, it will be your legal name for the rest of your life.

Many businesses and legal agencies must be notified of your marriage and name change. Some may require copies of the marriage certificate to make the change.
